    Post Ford Racing Technologies 5.0L Cammer Crate Engine

    I had read about the FRT 5.0L Cammer crate motor two years ago. It was supposed to be on the market sometime this year. I tried and tried, but can't find them for sale yet. The motor is a bored & stroked 4.6 DOHC. It's got all sorts of goodies in it:

    - Larger cylinders (94mm vs. 90.2mm) for 5.0 liters
    - Flanged cylinder liners
    - Reinforced crankcase web areas
    - Forged pistons
    - 11.0:1 compression ratio
    - Ported heads
    - Higher-lift cams (12mm vs. 10mm)
    - Beehive-shaped valve springs to accommodate the higher lift
    - Modified roller-finger followers
    - Multi-layer steel-insert head gaskets
    - Higher-flow fuel injectors
    - 3-piece cast-magnesium variable geometry intake manifold
    - Higher-flow, dual-cone-spray fuel injectors

    I think it was intended for sale as a hot-rodders dream... meant to be used in custom applications like vintage Mustangs, F100's, and Ford street rods. I'd like to get my hands on a long block and bolt it into my MM. It'll take care of that "ticking" and give me about 430 N/A hp, as well.

    Let me know if any of you have information on this crate motor.
    '03 300b - all the bolt-ons (SOLD)
    '93 Mustang Notch - restored w/ all the bolt-ons (SOLD)
    '97 F350 Powerstroke 5 spd, 4" straight pipe, 5" stacks, Rockford system, 35" tires...(SOLD)
    '95 Lightning - bolt-ons and susp (Totalled)
    '93 Stang Notch - full resto with autocross susp (SOLD)
    '01 Lightning - 3"/4" drop and full bolt-ons... FAST.

    No information but that 430 NA horsepower sounds really good.

    Or, you can call VT, have them stroke your current block, and walk away with 450 hp (380 RWHP.)

    If I did the math right..

    80 * 380
    100 x

    80x = 38000

    80x/80 = 38000/80

    x = 450

    If I had been a better boy this year, I would ask Santa Claus for one of those stroked engines. However...

    now i'm worried about block cracking, especially a bored out one. Man, wish that cracked block thread never came out, giving me chills down my back as i teeter on deciding on major future mods.

    You might want to see the info DR gets with his crate Cobra engine. Depending on what info you get from him you might like that way better.

    I'm looking into at least getting the magnesium intake for my car-heard that has good performance gains by itself-of course that is if it fits a Marauder. I've started a thread (it's kind of gone astray) about the intake in the Garage.

    The FR500 motor, from what I heard, is a limited, 200 engine run and word had it about a year ago that the first run was completely spoken for.
