Question Are winter tires ok in L.A.?

I might just drive to L.A. in two months. I have no idea if the winter tires will hold up with the temperature change from 15 to 70. I think it would be ok for a few days, but I might spend a week or two over there. Would the winter tires crack or be cracked by the time I get back to Chicago?

I don't want to, but I am willing to swap off my winter tires and put the stock ones back on when I hit AZ. Is this necessary? I know performance tires are no good below 40 so I am wonder if anything above 40 will crack the winter tires.

I know it sounds dumb, but please let me know.

    Thanks!

You asked this once, so i'll give you the same answer we told you before

Winter tires are made of a softer compound, so when you are doing donuts in the middle of a 4 way intersection at 1am in 70 degree weather, they are going to wear our way fast... Why not just put your normal tires on and drive all the way there on them? As long as you dont drive like a retard you wont have any issues making it there on "performance" tires...

In short, the winter tires wont "crack" but the rate of tire wear will be accelerated immensely

I would just leave them on. they will spin much easier so go easy on the gas, running with winter tires on for a few weeks in the summer wont hurt them, I've seen people up here run them year around and get 3 years outta them, so just go. and plus It could snow on your way down there too so better safe than sorry.

My mother refused to take her blizzaks off her chrysler mini van for years because she claimed it made it handle better in the rain, despite my protesting. They lasted a loooong time, I was expecting them to wear fast but they really didn't. A few days is certainly not going to hurt winter tires.

Two months... it will be warmer. Take the summer tires just for wear reasons....

And im honestly surprised doms tires last more than 24 hours.
