Red face Marauder Hood: I can't keep it up

When I open the hood up it doesn't wanna stay up. This has happened before in the wind, but now it's happening in a garage. This is also when it's 15 outside. Can anything be done about this without replacing the hinges or whatever you call the supports?

    Thanks.

BTW it's not windy in the garage.

Screw driver, block of wood, a golf club.....Oh I am sure the list goes on as to how many items one may use to keep a hood up.

Either use hillbilly ingenuity to fix it, or drop the money to replace them.

I know when my brother got a stock explorer with a scoop the hood struts wouldn't hold it up anymore due to the weight....

Do like he did, use a baseball bat to hold it up

It's only like this in the cold. Are you guys sure nothing can be done without replacing the supports?

    Time is money.
Save some time and just get it from the parts store.

It's a ford man. You shouldn't need to open the hood. Except for an oil change.

One or both are very weak ,I just had my hood open today and its only 17 degrees here and it stayed up just fine, have you ever replaced a marauder hood? They have some beef to them, don't want that sucker coming down on your head or hand.

of course you can be a redneck and cut a piece of broom handle and leave it on top of the radiator cover ...I seen that too,but never on a Marauder...first time for everything I guess.
