    Bent the crankshaft.

    One of my best buds is stationed on the USS New York. It has 7 and a half tons of steel in the bow from the World Trade Centers remains. Each repair locker onboard is named after an Engine Company that suffered the loss of firefighters. It also has 4 engines, throwing down 40,000 HP!! One of the engines wiped a few bearings due to a bent crankshaft. Here is a picture of 1 of the engines going in, look how small the people are compared to it.

    I can't wait to hear what the repair bill is for this engine rebuild, zoiks!

    WHAT! -- this is a brand NEW commissioned Naval ship. Someone is going to pay big time for this mistake. They're going to have to pull the entire engine out of the ship to replace the crackshaft. That's going to be a BIG and costly job.

    Exactly. As you can see, they set the engines in and build the ship AROUND them. I've been down and looked at the engines, BIG. They are talking about doing a pierside repair, but I just don't see it happening.
