    Opend the Hood

Took out the original battery. Used Purple Power cleaner, a hose and scrub brush to clean out the battery box then sprayed it with silicone.

Put the new Megatron Interstate battery in and hooked it up.

Pulled the fuel pump fuse. Checked the fluids and then cranked the engine for 10 seconds which is all it took to get oil pressure. Pu the fuel pump fuse back in then started her up.

No unusual noises and as smooth as can be seeing she sat for 5 months out in the open and never being started.

Put the new Pro-guard on I got from Dennis while she was at idle and the new Gorilla Lug nut locks I wanted.

When she was at temp checked the tranny fluid and did a check on the coolant system to make sure it was up to snuff and did a PH test on the brake fluid and it was perfect.

Took her to the parts store to buy new cleaning stuff and she ran good.

Brought her home and parked her. She will sit there until I get the new rear end cover and gear oil in her. No runs on the highway till that job is done.

Today is the new Spoiler for the Taurus. Yesterday was the new Stereo system and figuring out how the damm thing worked LOL!!

Bought Her for my 40th B Day in August of 2004 @ Crest Lincoln Mercury

Sent money for T Bolt parts. It may be next year before the current motor project is done. The old new motor will have to do till then.

My old job I used to park outside my window and stare at her... now at my new job my office is in the dead center of the building! I can't look at my car, but I am safe if a tornado passes through the area!

It was actually Saturday, but I reconnected my battery to start it up and listen to it and then move my car a few feet, then disconnected it again and removed the LCM before covering her back up for a few more weeks. Sending my LCM for repair so my lights will work again!

It's going to get love once I finally cut out the bottom shelf in my garage and move my tires so it will fit in it and that's where it shall stay until the 4.10s get installed.

Drove the Taurus to work today, such a pleasure to drive/cruise in, even with AWD.

Better late than never. Saturday, I washed the MM, cleaned the throttle body and the K&N air filter.
    (#6178 in black per FPIC)
Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:

    Paula Babineau 1/9/67-8/2/11

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

Tuesday I got the LCM reinstalled and all of the cables reattached and situated the new external relay mod (courtesey of fastblackmerc). Reattached the battery and restarted the motor and had a temp spike after months in storage. I'll have to belch the coolant in the next day or two. Hit it with the California Car Duster since it seems like a waste to wash it right now. Went through a half tank of gas in less than 24 hours, a feat which takes me closer to a week in my winter beater.

Changed the oil. Switched from RP synthetic to Valvoline conventional on advice from my tuner. Ran the Valvoline for breakin, never leaked a drop. Switched to synthetic, started getting a little seepage. Hoping for the best, it's a lot easier than pulling the engine to seal the pan.

    Today

Postman delivered my new FRPP 3:73's to replace the 4:30's. Picked up my wheels after the shop installed the new Nitto tires, 295s on the back & 235s on the front. Put the old OEM 10k mile fronts on my Kazerra rims that have the Nitto 305 DRs on the wider Kazerra rears.
This weekend, I hope to replace four sets of brake pads, new plugs, clean MAF & the K&N.
