The driveshaft shop may still have the measurements from the coyote swap guy I sent to them.

Didn't he have to move is his engine back slightly so his oil pan could clear, which would make mine and his measurements slightly off from his. With all that being said I called them anyways and they recommended that I give them my own measurements. At least when I do it people who decide to go this after me will have the correct measurements for our cars and can just bypass the measuring part and just order their driveshaft. I think I remember him saying his measurements where 5' 5" exact. Which means mine should be a slightly longer than this.

I just might, but it would only be when I have most of the parts needed in my garage.

Hopefully this weekend, I could remove the trans crossmember, take out the 4R70 and bolt on the 6R and get the needed measurements but from what I have read the 03 and up crossmembers are a real pain to take down, anyone have any tips

I laugh every time I hear of "the struggle"..

This is similar to what I carry in my work van and will have the crossmember laying on the ground in under 10 seconds. You will need to have decent ground clearance however. Seriously this is NOT a difficult task when done correctly with big boy tools.

What Bob said, get it in the air. There is a gap on each side near the end of the member, the the bar can move each side a small amount at a time till it's free, and spray it with wd40 where it's wedged in at, there's sand and dirt in there that if washes out helps.

I have the MM 20" off the floor. Took my 4' crow bar & hooked the end edge of CM were outboard bolt goes thru, grabbed bar & lifted. It moved right away and I said WOW, that was easy! Then got down & looked and found the little piece that houses the 2 bolts had popped out (it is held in with only 2 tiny welds on 1 end so leverage bent it out and broke the welds) and the actual CM was still in place. What ever idiot moron engineer at FOMOCO that designed this abortion set-up for a CM needs to be taken out back & shot! Then I stuck the bar in to the now large hole in CM, jumped on bar 3 times and the CM was on the floor.

My friendly Ford parts guru ordered me a new CM matching the best on-line price I could find and I'm good to go. He was flabbergasted when he actually saw the part at the completely retarded design!

My CR weighs about a quarter of the original and can be removed/installed with one hand in minutes. One of the best things I've done!

Why didn't you just tack weld the ends back on?

Honestly I wish someone would make a custom one, rather than just hacking the original one but I don’t know anyone who could do that out here.

Removing a marauder crossmember is a rite of passage lol, I have found the easiest way to get out is with a good air chisel. I removed three or four of them.

Because I ovaled the CM bouncing on it with crowbar.

I care about the car too much to beat it back in shape & hack it up to reuse.

Replacement was cheap enough I said F it and bought it.

Going to custom fab it so it will come apart easily for future the way the dip$h! ts at Ford should have done to start with.
