Help! Need pic of alternator/pulley on Eaton swap

I've put the Eaton on my motor using Gorsuch's brackets but my alternator doesn't line up right. The alternator is an 01 Cobra, which looks like the same dimensions as the MM alternator. I used the F5OY-10344-F alternator pulley. But my belt is about 3/16" out farther from the timing cover than it should be.

I need to determine whether I have the wrong pulley, the alternators really are different size, or if I have something else wrong.

    Thanks.

It would be a lot more helpful if you posted pics of whats going on.

If it makes you fell better, my belt is further away from the timing cover on the drivers side than the passenger side.

What is happening is when the belt comes off the alternator, around the idler, it has to come back in to hit the power steering pump. Since it has to come in so far, it is hitting the power steering pulley on the outer edge and squeaking like crazy. It looks like the alternator pulley should be about 1/16" from the timing cover (Terry Gorsuch says his is .060 from the timing cover).

You can see in this picture that the pulley is .285" (over 1/4") from the timing cover. (This is the picture I'm looking for on the Marauder alternator).

Here you can see the misalignment (looking down on the water pump).

I know Terry made a revision to the alternator brcaket since i bought the first ones produced.
Do you have the bracket with 'legs' on the right hand side, or does yours slide over the studs in the timing cover and bolt on with nuts?

My bracket has legs that bolt to the timing cover with long bolts (110 mm I believe).

My suggestion is to call Terry and verify the correct measurements of the legs.... or just take the bracket off and make the necessary adjustments to the legs.

    Either way report back.

...you dont have spacers between the legs and the timing cover, do you?

I don't have any spacers on the legs. If I trim the legs down, the idler will hit the timing cover. It is about 1/16" from the timing cover now, so I think the bracket is correct. Does the alternator pulley look like it fits the same as with the Marauder alternator? If it does, I'll try to get a Marauder alternator. Maybe the Marauder is deeper than the Cobra alternator by 1/4" (though they look the same from pictures).

Are you sure you installed the alternator pulley the correct way?

Try to see if you can get a Marauder owner to get a dimension of the thickness of the alternator bottom, where it slides over the bolts.
    Then compare it to yours.

Id help but my MM's are not accessible right now.

The lip of my pulley is about 1/8" from the timing cover, the edge of the belt is about 1/4" away.

I had the parts store get me a rebuilt alternator for a Marauder to measure. Assuming it is actually a Marauder alternator case, the critical dimensions are identical to my Cobra alternator. The only possible difference is the shaft may be longer on the Marauder, thus moving the replacement pulley away from the face of the alternator and closer to the timing cover.

Does anyone have a picture of that (as shown in my first picture) or a measurement? (Even a guess.) The pulley on mine fits pretty flush with the face of the alternator.

The critical dimension is the distance from the tab that faces the bracket to the end of the pulley. On mine it is 1.63" (as shown in the picture).

Thanks for all your help. I'm about 99% done with this thing and ready to roll!
