    05 GT KB Mammoth project

I will take separate shots of the tear down and install, the owner delivered the car today after having a play station and DVD in dash with rear head rest monitors, Steve will start tomorrow on this, one issue I can already see is he will for sure need a brake up grade I bought a Innovate under drive crank pulley to keep the boost under 11 PSI since this car has a stock motor and I will limit RWHP to 500 or below for 93 octane and give him a race gas tune, this is twice the blower the car needs, but what the heck this is what he wanted.
With 60 Pound injectors the proper maf a 40 amp BAP and a CONSERVATIVE tune the car will be fine, and I explained all this to the customer, this set up and SC was his choice. So he knows all the facts KB has done many of these, and I feel the car will be fine. I ran 12 PSI with a conservative tune on a my Marauder, it made 465 RWHP with a 4R70W and a 4500 stall if the car had a manual in it, that would be approximately 90 RWHP more and my car stayed together and ran low 11's on a race gas tune. So when the time comes and he wants to turn it up, all he needs to do is put a Quality built motor in it and adjust the tune and he will have a very fast car.

Tear down and install part 1

KB is a very good S/C and this was my first sell so I was as excited as the customer, this was his choice, and as I explained before I told him this was a big as blower as any made, and this is what he wanted and if done with a conservative tune he will be fine, he has plans for a built motor, and my choice would be Ron Hobart at Fox Lake when he decides, I installed the next to largest centrifugal SC on my Marauder and many said I was nuts I ran a JT Trim at 12 PSI and for the street it was dialed back for Race gas I turned up the car made 465 RWHP, with a built motor and 16 PSI it made 568, I thought the club would like to see how the install goes and it is a very involved install as you will see in the photos.

Yes he had to go with a carbon fiber hood, I told him a 2.2 would be better, but again this is what he wanted, I hope to see many of you in Louisville.

Well I got the GT on the dyno today and I will say I am very happy with the results, the car made exactly what I wanted for boost just under 11 PSI, and with only 17 deg timing the car made 448 RWHP, on completely stock motor and exhaust and was actually adding timing at 6K, so there is far much there but I will keep the car under 460 RWHP on pump gas. This was my First KB 2.8 Mammoth I am very impressed with the kit. I will smooth out the AF and have the dyno and final numbers, tomorrow along with video.

Really cool Dennis. Loads of power with nice conservative numbers based on the major potential down the road with a built motor.

Does the car have long tubes?

With 3 degrees more timing and minor A/F corection the car is now making. 472 RWHP and 402RWT and it is still trying to add timing, he is happy and that is my only concern besides safety. I am smoothing out the AF now. I added three percent to the very end.
