Dec. 6th Cecil County Drag Way

Hey Constable, you gonna be there with that beast of yours? It'd be good to see some of you local MM guys and gals at this event.

    Here's a link: CrownVic.net

    December 6th

would be perfect for me but what's with this "Power adder" rule they're talking about? It listed the MM as only being allowed one "power adder". So that counts me out. Another thing that I'm curious about is that it sounds like this will be an 1/8th mile race instead of a 1/4 mile. Correct me if I'm wrong about that. I wouldn't be interested in 1/8th mile runs.

Why is that Billy? Just for clarrification, the 3 types of power adders are, Turbo, Supercharger and Nitrous. Therefore the one power adder rule only applies if you have say a SC and you're spraying but can't live without both of them. If you do have both a SC and nitrous then just don't spray and you're in. Oh and only Vics and MMs are allowed a power adder, Impalas aren't allowed any! Oh and I believe this rule only applies to the quick 8 race. But then if you don't qualify for the quick 8 then it's not likely that you have 2 power adders anyway.

And yes it's definitely a 1/4 mile run so come on down and bring your slicks.

    Okay, now you have

my attention....so a "power adder" is either a S/Cer, turbo, or Nitrous? I assumed that the term meant any modifications(such as Torque converter, computer chip, headers, etc.) But if this isn't the case, then it might be time for me to look into some drag radials. I'll have my headers installed by then!! Maybe Marty will be interested as well.

I realize now that I probably should have posted this in the North East Regional forum. If so, could someone pls move this thread?

at the dragway by me, if you run over 100mph, they wont let you go without a helmet. I did not bring a helmet, luckily ran a few in the mid 90's mph, but on second thought, I will wear a helmet anyway...alot can go wrong in a 1/4 mile at WOT...usually with the gear head's car next to you...or slightly in front of you (on fire)!

I don't know, do you have a turbo, SC or nitrous injection? Don't quote me on this but I believe you could even drop in a 460 if you wanted to and in addition you still get to have one power adder.

BTW, was there an MM concept car like they did with the Impala SS? The 92 Impala SS was fitted with 502 Ramjet. Would have made a screamer of a grocery getter had they made it a option for the production years. John Moss still drives it around to larger Impala shows.

The race has been postponed until Saturday Dec. 13th due to bad weather.

    See you there!
