What is this gasket used for?

I tried searching autozone and advanced auto, as well as rock auto for that flange gasket after the cats that run to the h-pipe.

They all come up with this thing:

That, does not fit at all. I tried searching 03 and 04 ....... does not even line up what so ever.

Lucky for you I just went thru this.

Nobody local carries a Marauder specific gasket, some can order at the price of $9.00 each.

After four failed attempts, I bought a pair for a 2003 grand marquis for $3.50.

Well what do you know, a perfect fit...

Looks like the passenger side header to down tube on my car. When i put my headers on, i tore up the pass. side gasket and had to go to my LAPS/Pep Boys, rite off i ordered a gasket for A " '03 Mach 1 passenger side exhaust gasket". Luckily i had my old 1 to show them. Matched up perfect!.... some times You gotta cheat the LAPS a little.....

That's exactly what the FLAPS by me carried. I never found an alternative. Just reused the ones that were on the car. No leaks yet. Looks like JustBob found the solution
You "feel" the difference because you want to "feel" the difference. Since you just spent money on the upgrade you "have" to feel the difference

I'm looking to eliminate the double pump process I have to follow right now to get the pedal hard

Right side Mustang 4.6 manifold to catalytic converter gasket. Now if you had DR's Cobra setup, it would work.
    (#6178 in black per FPIC)
Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:
    Alex "Marauderboi" Vachon 3/2/92-8/13/10
    Paula Babineau 1/9/67-8/2/11

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

The gasket is for the passenger side shorty header-to-mustang H/X pipe. The metal one in the pic is the one you want not the black gasket material one. (those blow out)
