Car show cruisin’ at Metro Beach Metropark

If gazing at chrome, rumble seats or fuzzy dice revs your motor, cruise on over to the “13th Annual Blast from the Past Car Show” sponsored by Aeroquip Performance Products and Huntington Bank on Sunday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to dusk at Metro Beach Metropark near Mt. Clemens.

Members from four local car clubs will be displaying their antiques, classics, customs and muscle cars; street rods and low riders throughout the day. Car owners will be on hand to answer questions on how they’ve restored, modified and cared for these beautiful and rare vehicles.

“People should bring their sunglasses and their cameras – they will see some of the brightest and most colorful paint jobs imaginable,” says Sharp.

“Doctor Pocket” will perform blues, jazz, rhythm and classic rock from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Thomas Welsh Activity Center.

Host clubs are the Michigan Fiero Club and No Name Car Club.

The car show is “free,” except for the required Metroparks vehicle entry permit which is only $25 annually for regular admission, $15 annually for seniors, or $5 daily. For more information, contact Metro Beach Metropark at 1-800-477-3172 or go to www.metroparks.com. For information about the display cars, call Joe Sharp at 586-725-6383.
