    NOT A MARAUDER: Brake trouble

At work, one of my employees has a 1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager, he left to take a delivery, on his way back his brake pedal turned hard as a rock and has to now press the brake with both feet to even stop safely. His ABS and BRAKE lights are both on and his brake fluid is right on mark for where it should be. No obvious leaks or anything. Any ideas on what this could be? Mods, if this is in the wrong forum, please move and I'm sorry. Thanks in advance

My guess: master cylinder or booster is bad.

+1 The booster is what makes the brake pedal easy to push. Check to make sure the vacuum line going to the booster didn't come disconnected and there is usually a little plastic check valve. Make sure it passes the ol' suck/blow test.

My first reaction is power brake booster. Check vacuum line at intake and at booster. Check inlet check valve. This is a repeat from Phrog gunner.

Not doubt on the booster. Lack of vacuum will cause a rock hard pedal. Just like pushing the pedal with the engine off. The booster is designed to hold enough vacuum to allow 2 pushes of the pedal to apply the brakes. After that the pedal becomes rock hard.

Thanks for all the responses everyone, his brother up in Syracuse purchased a brake booster for him and we'll see tomorrow morning when it gets installed if that's the problem. If not, looks like I'm workin a double...
