Leak @ Trans Range Sensor Shaft

Anyone ever have this happen to theirs? Tailshaft area has always been soaked for the longest time but never left anything on the ground. Figured it had come from the trans dipstick area and made it way back around the tailshaft area. After having SmokdMercRauder change my trans filter, install trans cooler and MMC driveshaft I noticed a nickel size spot on my shop floor one day and it was only that day it ever left a spot. This past Friday I had my alignment done and asked SmokdMerckRauder to check the trans for leaks (of course forgot to ask him if he saw anything) and asked him today and he said at the TRSS.

my leak is from the tail shaft, i changed the seal with a new national seal, still have that same annoying leak!
im wondering if the tail shaft bushing is bad, noticed a little play on the tail shaft when changed the seal

TRSS has a plastic/rubber bushing around it, that fits into that hole there in the trans housing.
It's possible that bushing is cracked or worn, causing your leak.
You'll have to drop the pan to remove/replace it.

Thanks for letting me know there is a plastic/rubber bushing there. I'll look into my shop manual about it.

I guess I'll just wait until I do the J-mod to fix it since I just had the pan dropped and new filter installed the other week ago.

I'm pretty sure is the o ring on the side off the tailshaft. Take the plastic cap off change it and that's it. Been there done that.
