    EATC code 025

Getting code 025 on the EATC. Nothing but really hot air from the A/C. Don't have my shop manual with me so anyone know what the code is and the fix off hand? Did a search but got a bunch of unrelated threads.

OK, thanks. So the blend door motor needs to be replaced or something like that?

After sorting through a lot of threads here in the search, I found this one. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forum...d+door+failure Good write up but sounds like a pain. Got to decide if I'm going to do the repair myself or just pay someone.

Could also be a vacuum leak or the o-rings in the EATC.

Pretty sure the problem is blend door, I had/have the same problem.

Try running the diagnostic a number of times in a row, or even a few times for a few days in a row. You may be surprised what it can do to at least get things where you can use them until you can do a proper repair.

Blend door problem went away but is now back. Guess I got to finally attempt to do the blend door repair but don't feel like it. I bought the part last time I had the problem but it went away. How much would it cost to just have a shop or the dealer fix it?

Shops and dealers across the country all have different labor rates.... best thing to do is call for an estimate.

Any attempt to guess at that would be pulling numbers from one's ass. It depends so heavily on the honesty/integrity of the shop, along with their skill/experience at the specific job and also the prevailing labour rate in your area. An earlier reply mentioned 3 hours...around here that would be $300...dealer would be at least double that because they can.

I once paid a respected shop to replace the heater core in a '99 Taurus as I was told it was a BEAR of a job, and the shop surprised me by doing it a lot quicker and for a good bit less money than I was expecting. They told me they had done a lot of them and had learned all the tricks, so you never know.

OK, its warmer weather here and my A/C doesn't seem to be fixing itself this time, lol. So I'm going to get it checked out and be prepared that they will have to replace the blend door actuator.
