Also are you looking for winter, all-season or summer-only tires?

Could go with a 265/50-18 Nitto or another brand. It's almost the same exact height as the stock 245/55 tire so the speedo should be spot on.

Whats the difference between the 255/55 and 265/50? I have Nitto 420s 255/55s on now and I kinda like them...they wear fast but hey...all tires do on the Merc!

It's a slightly smaller sidewall but has a wider foot print. The 265's would probably wear faster.

I don't know what the 420s treadwear rating it.

    Here is a 255/55 that has a 560 treadwear rating and all-season.

235's up front, they have held up just as well as the backs.

This one set has lasted me as long as 3 sets of BFG's, and it's not like I baby these. Any and all opportunities to squal tires and slide around corners, I take 'em, and it is ALOT. I remember the backs were 101.00 each, can't remember the fronts, got the set off Tirerack, all four were on my porch about 30 hours after I ordered them. They've been to 2 Louisville meets, a Marauderville, from VA. up to Chicago at least 3 times, up to Maryland, I forget where all. For the price to performance ratio, they may be the best tires I ever put on anything.

I've recommended them to a few friends to use on their vehicle since most of the time on tirerack.com they have been the best bang for the buck. When the tires run down on my Taurus I'll be replacing them with these.
