just an FYI, you can also get a grand marquis headlight, bake it for 20 mins @270 and pry the lense.
the chrome surround is watter soluble and comes off with water and soap revealing a gloss black finish.
then just re-seal everything,
just an FYI in case you want to save a few bucks and find a MGM headlight (03-05)

This is a fantastic tip!! Have you actually tried this? Were you able to get the black surround completely glossy and free of swirl or scuff marks, or any fine scratches?Originally Posted by sanco

yup, i actually did it on my car. the finish is a nice glossy surface, no swirl marks or scratches. just make sure to rub off the chrome under watter and soap, it takes a bit of rubbing but do not use anything harsh that would scratch it. i used a sponge and it worked really well.
at the recent meet, you cant notice a difference between mine and the actual marauder headlights. here is a pic of them on the car, its a little dirty though
