Coolant flow?

Does the cross over tube take hot coolant away from the engine our cool coolant to the engine?

It is the outlet. Where Hot coolant goes to the rad or before the t stat opens it recirculates back to the WP inlet were the oil filter is attached to. The heater core inlet is also pulled from the passenger side COT. They do the recirc thing so it warms up faster for emissions purposes.
