Window Popping Out of the Track

My driver's door window pops out of the track when it get to the top when closing it. I opened up the door panel and looked inside... Found the problem. The white plastic guide that runs along the metal channel is worn out on the top contact side. Apparently whatever lubricatin that was there is gone. So now when the window goes up it pops out of alignment and doesn't stay in the track. I have a mickey-mouse workaround to get the window completely closed, but it's very annoying. So, I would like to replace the necessary parts, but I have no idea what they are called or how it comes apart. I tried searching for this in the forum but I haven't found anything describing this. Could someone tell me what this part is called and how the hell it's supposed to get replaced?

+1, alternately, you can use 1/4-20's to install the regulator and glass to the regulator, I have done quite a few this way, it is easier, if you use nylock nuts, it will never cone loose.

Or use Locktite on the nuts and bolts.

I had my buddy at the dealership help me , so he used those big aluminum rivets that were used from the factory.
I have no experience in other methods , the suggestions using other hardware sounds good.
There is some risk with the rivit gun, if you don't hold your tool just right.

The Kaboom will also happen if you tighten the bolts too tight...... been there done that!

    Ouch!
Now that I think about it , my pal made me crank the rivet tool down just in case.

Thanks guys! I think this has been a problem with the car since I got it. The window would always squeak when going up, and once I saw that I finally understood why. So I don't have to worry about a repeat of this issue, what would be the best way to lubricate the guide? I don't want another regulator to get worn out.

Well, thought I'd finally post an update. The new regulator is in place! However, when trying to remove the last rivet holding in the glass, well, missed the rivet and hit the glass and BOOM! Had to drive around for a week with a clear plastic shower curtain taped to the door. Got the glass replaced for a good price, though. Went to this place in Chicago, Majestic Auto Glass, on Ashland (south of I-290). Glass was replaced and installed for $88.41 in under an hour and they give a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. Really friendly, too. I just really wish I would have been able to get out of this without breaking the dumb window. The plastic looked kinda trashy and the wind noise was horrendous at highway speeds. I'll try to post the pics soon.

Glad to hear you got it repaired for a decent price. Did you gain any info on how to lubricate the window guide yet?

Afraid not. But if I find anything, and it's not added to this thread, I'll re-post it here or link it.

Take the door panels off and you'll see what needs to be lubricated. I use white spray lube.
