I'm glad I took a pass on buying that car when it was available, later found it had a lot of problems in it's short life.

I remember his screen name was lilalleycat or something similar, first name was Al. It was the only Marauder Lidio did a 6 gallon meth tank in. I understand it had a few motors and several transmissions, it was beat on pretty bad.

Spectra...... Al's former car was the one in the right lane...... Al spent a boatload of money on that car, so I would not say it was beat on....(Yea he had to replace the motor, and their were some glitches during the rebuild process, but that not uncommon for these cars). I would say he drove it frequently as if he'd stolen it.

Not a bad thing if ya ask me. Nothing wrong with driving these cars hard as long as you can maintain them properly.

Oh, I realize how much that was spent on it, it had most everything I was looking for, things just didn't work out on my end, $$$ wise. I had outstanding invoices I was waiting on payment for, and had all my free cash tied up in those jobs.

Then people started telling me about all the problems that car had, from the blower, to motor and transmissions, sometimes things go a certain way for a reason.....

It was an awesome car though....

True Dat!!! I would say that the majority of things that went wrong with his car where due to human error vs. part failure though. An important distinction to make I think when looking at vehicle history.

Was this car a lemon from the start? Or did an aftermarket tuner/tech turn it into one?? Good questions to ask, if we ever find the opportunity, to stroke a check for a hotrod in the future.

"As far as Dave's car goes, it came straight from Al, built and tuned by Lidio with the forged stroker and one of his Lyschom twin-screw kits, meth-injected and dialed in. Dave will be the first one to admit his disappointment with the car, and as you get closer to the bleeding edge of mods, quality of ride and drivability suffer. He's busy tracking down an oil leak that mists the front of the engine, and the meth system had a serious leak in it that was not a material defect."

"The meth injection system is another matter. Dave told me Lidio has not/will not return his calls or emails, so we are forced to grope around blindly with this issue. The meth is vented directly to the outside by a hose with no check valve or anything (?!?) so it evaporates at a stupid rate. Of the two engagement lights, we've never seen the second one come on as it is suppposed to. Finding a shop willing to take on this car will be a hard task, so we may Sniper the whole thing like the last one. Loooong learning curve."
