    maxxis marauder 2 tires?

Just wondering if anyone had considered or tried the Maxxis Marauder II tires? I see they offer them in sizes that appear to work, and have a pretty nice tread pattern. Plus it would be kinda neat to have a tire with Marauder on it lol.

They appear to only be V rated...IDK how much difference that makes for n/a applications? As I don't plan to go faster than 149mph lol.

    Look at their wear ratings....

    280 - 300... that sucks!

I'm running Hankook's in the rear and the wear rating is 420!

Agreed, nice looking tire. In comparing the specs to OEM sizes, the Maxxis have a higher load rating, slightly less traction rating, and a lower treadwear rating, but overall, could be a good replacement option.

You have any prices for 235/55/18 and 255/55/18's? Would be interesting to see how the compare to Nitto 420S, price-wise.

Nittos are still a better deal at under $150 a tire. I may be shopping for a set of rears soon.

Agreed. That's prolly what I'm going with as well. But you gotta admit, it's kinda intriguing to have "Marauder" tires on an MM.

You gonna go with 420S's again or are you thinking about 555's this time around?

Where can you find nitto's for under $150? Are these the 420s or 555s?

Kumho's. Played hooky from work and took the Marauder in for state inspection yesterday. I purposely did not take the Interstate just so I could have fun light to light for 11 miles. These tires have outlasted 4 sets of BFG's already, and they still squall off the line, still bark like a kicked dog on the shift, still corner very well. The fronts are showing a little wear, I may replace them before Marauderville. The backs have taken abuse from here to Chicago, here to Charlotte, here to Louisville and back twice, all over the East Coast, and if you think they don't get spun hard and often, you're crazy. Kumho's, suckas!

On your car?! They might last one trip around our hotel parking lot in Louisville at 2 a.m., lol.

420S fronts appear to be more expensive than the rears.

I'm gonna get pricing on the Maxxis MA-S2's as well for comparision. The specs and reviews look pretty good on them. If they're comparably priced, I make take the plunge and try out a set.
