Ripon vintage restored police car show this weekend

In case any NorCal members are in the area and interested in seeing some old school police cars. I go every year. I love seeing those old Polara's and Monaco's packing the 440 engines.

I always thought the Monaco/Fury/St Regis cars looked good. To bad they were rust buckets. Probably some goodies out in Cali. Not much survived in the East. Post pics if you go.

I did take pictures from several years ago which I can post up. Some I took via a disposable camera which don't look so good. Others my sister took with her digital camera which turned out good. Would still love to see an ex-FHP marauder there but apparently people here are staying away from those with a 10 foot pole, lol.

Wow, those old Twin Sonic light bars bring back fun memories for me lit up the whole area. I still remember driving the old Dodges too.

I'm a Ford man, but the Dodge St. Regis was a nice police cruiser.

Same here, but we had no choice. Whatever the state gave us. Ask me at MV9 about their K Car fiasco in the 80's Then we went to CVs for a few years, liked em and they lasted forever. The RWD Impalas were quick, but had cooling and other major issues. Once they gave autonomy to us to buy what we wanted, we had to go with whatever was cheapest. Thats how we ended up with Whimpalas. A fully dressed Whimpala cost less than a CV with nothing on it, but they barely made 80K before falling apart. Now they have gone to SUVs only, with a Charger for the Boss. He can keep it, it is worthless in the snow even with Goodyear snow/ice tires all the way around. I did like my last unit, a Durango with the 5.7 It actually handled real well for a big vehicle.

Did you ever get to yell "Calling all cars! Calling all cars!" or stand on the running board and crank the siren while your partner drove?

    Who loves ya.

Uhm, ask me in person in a couple weeks. I know nothing... One unit we had in the 80's still had a whindy up sireen, you'd be done with a stop and the damn thing would still be winding down.

Back in the 60's I had relatives that worked for Detroit City Service Garage. The police cars that went the distance , were the Ford Galaxies and the Dodge Coronets and the State Boyz Polarisis and Galaxie 500's The Chevrolets were good to 60 thousand regardless of engine selection. [city carz had small blox ]. So you see fast foreward today chevyz still have the same build quality
