Yes, and uh... yes.
The intake is very differant, and a shaker would require a new and heavly modded or cut hood.

I believe the engines are nearly identical except for then intakes.
The Mach 1's airbox is on the passangers side and our Marauder air boxes are on the drivers side. So the "air duct" would need to be fabricated.
Cutting a hole in the hood would not be a big issue seeing that crown vics, marquis and marauders share the same hood from 98-2004.
I would like to see what a Marauder with a shakerhood would look like.
But instead of buying an over priced kit, I'm hoping to find a wrecked one to snag the parts off of.

I did some looking into it and the "shaker" hood on the Mach 1 actually sits above the engine on a seperate bracket. In theory you could get it to fit any engine if you just custome built a bracket for it. Bigest problem is that it feeds air to the opposite side of the engine as the Marauder does. In fact it pushes air all the way back down to where it connect to the regular air filter intake on the mustang and does not go "straight" into the engine like on old Cudas and their like.

The Mach1 is a DOHC. So, yes, its the same engine as in a MM. Well, same block and heads. It puts out 300+ horse from the factory.Originally Posted by Krytin

Marauder, Mach, and Aviator share the same motor. And Strider is correct in that the shaker simply sits on top of a bracket that mounts to the upper intake. I know this because there's a process that some Mach guys do to raise the shaker that involves dismounting it from the bracket and adjusting the screws that hold it on. I'm sure adapting that piece would be simple, it's just actually feeding the shaker intake into the air box that's a trick.
Personally, I don't think it would look all to great. The size of our hoods is IMO too big for a shaker. I feel the same with the Lightnings having a shaker hood. Dr Caleb did a "mach" (hehe...) up of what a MM would look like with a shaker. The results were this:
Looks like the good doctor's art work s t r e t c h e d things just a bit. A neighbor to me owns an '03 Mach 1, and we did some light measuring. There are some up-down adjustment needed, but most of all (in my eyes and humble opinion) the scoop is too small for the real estate. Your opinion may differ, and that's fine. www.karkraft.com has the hardware, including the engine with shaker assebbly attached, go fot it. BTW, it's only partially functional, the Mach has the customary air box doing 90% of the breathing.
Hence the Mach 1 guys have already figured out they could add a few horses by removing the silencer from the airbox like the older mid-80's 'stangs.Originally Posted by SergntMac
