    Car running hot

Started my car and it sounded strange along with barely starting so I turned it off then restarted it. Car started fine. I turned on the AC and let the car idle. Minutes later my temp needle went to the top. I turned the car off and smelled nothing burning or nothing hot. Checked the coolant resivour and it's filled to the max like it isn't flowing down thru its areas. The upper hose is full of fluid as well. I don't get it. Is there a blockage? Could the water pump be failing? I dont have any leaks either*

Have you changed out the thermostat or coolant recently? Sounds like you may have air in the system that needs burping.

How long ago was that? May still be an issue with air trapped in the system, this is a real common problem with our cars, and the symptoms you described are usually what you experience when there is air in the cooling system.

Remove the fill plug from the cross over tube and check for coolant.

The car wouldn't overheat that quickly with a failed water pump on a cold engine so it's likely just trapped air.

Sounds like air trapped in the system.

You need to burp the system.

They don't run hot. Not if you have a properly serviced cooling system.

The temp gauge should be pointing right at or slightly above 20MPH on the speedo.

My car never gets above 190.

The temp guage(original) on my car has the needle 1/2 way between C and H,once it's warmed up.maybe 10-15minutes...Not sure where that is in relation to the 20 on the speedo....Never had a minutes trouble with it.I have burped it,once when it began to rise above the half way mark and that seemed to bring it back to normal...bugsy
