Ultimate ported, stock runner length intake

The shortcomings of the stock intake are the runner inlets (addressed in a previous post), the #1 runner, #8 runner, and the injector bumps. The inlets to #1 and #8 runners have had material added to create larger bellmouths. The injector bumps are being totally removed and in order for that to happen the area on the outside of the intake must be filled. The bottom has yet to be removed.
Below are some pics showing how those issues are being addressed

and of course the roleld bellmouths that were discussed in the other thread

The only time into this is the welding and the two injector bumps I've removed. Total time into this one will be 8-10 hours.

So 1 and 8 will have actual, round bell mouths also. Very nice. Why couldn't Ford have done the outer the right way at least?

The alternator is the reason for the unique shape of the #1 runner and it won't be round when it's done, but it will be shaped to allow for far more airflow.

    Looks great!
I love the bell mouth inlets....reminds me of an old school injector stack!

    Just an observation:
The injectors are not really bolted to the manifold, they're just held in place by the fuel rails, and are not a structural/stressed piece....
Is it necessary to do all that additional welding on the outside before/after you 'shave down' the injector bungs?

(Before I had my intake extrude honed, I took a Dremel to all that crappy casting flash and the manifold was smooth on the inside and the outside.)

There would be a large hole in the port if the injector bump was removed without adding the extra material. I know this because I've ground thru many ports while reducing the size of the bump. Only ev6 injectors can be used when the injector reliefs are filled.

When installed on a stock engine, most stock runner length ported intakes provide 5-10rwhp. The expectation is that this one makes more, how much more won't be known until I bolt it on.

Headers won't make the exhaust louder, for that the mufflers need to be changed.

What's the cost? And do you need a stock intake from the customer?
