Sounds like a coil pack if so soon will throw check engine light and will have a misfire if so change the coil on that cylinder

check the coil packs (ignition coils)

change sparl plugs if havent done so in a while if you jus bought car and havent done so i would just so you kno

if you driving down the road and the car is jerking/bucking and feels like you got lose in power most likly a coil going bad could have got wet when getting power washed thats why i would never do that to my car would rather have a dirty enginebay when power washing and cousing damage

I purchased a 2003 mm 2 days ago and seems like going uphill its misfires and bugs ... Let my foot off gas and and press it again it's fine ...previous owner said he power washed the engine bay and after that is when it started.. Could it be the coils or idk what?? Trans was done at 75k and car currently has 130k on it

Hard to say what it could be?

Typically, most start with cleaning the MAF and look for vacuum leaks.

Start with the basics and move up from there.

It could be that one or more of the spark plug holes has water in it, and causing an issue?

Maybe try removing the coil covers, then the spark plug boots to see if water is in there.

They will more than likely leak closest to the firewall as there are notches in the coil covers for wires that can take in water when pressure washing.

    Are you throwing any codes?

You may have water in the spark plug wells.

Not the best idea with these motors. Most people here use something like Simple Green or Windex and just rinse it off with a trickle or mist of water from a garden hose...no pressure behind it.

Bingo. Pull the spark plug covers off and remove the coils and blow the wells out with compressed air.
