Pics of my old hot rods

I hope you guys don`t get to mad at me for being a mostly GM guy...but i do love the fox body Mustangs and the Marauders....

If you post in here try too share a story and post pics of your old hot rods...

Well i started back in 95 when i bought a brand new Impala ss.......couple month later i had a 100 shot of nitrous on it and had a blast but that was not enough,,then i built a 383 with a 125 shot and had a blast...but it wasn't`t enough.....so then i built a 396ci with a 150 shot and had a blast....but that was not enough so i freshened up the bottom end and built a 398ci with AFR 220 heads and a solid roller cam with a 150 shot and i notched the frame rails so i could put a 335/35/17 drag radial on it and this time i had a real blast........11;90 on motor and 10;82 on a 150 shot......

Then a few years later i bought another 95 impala that needed a motor and trans......well using all my old parts i put to gather a stock LT1 motor and had the trans rebuilt..........then i put a trailer hitch on it and off we went..........

Then things got tuff and got layed off for awhile......sold the stock impala then i sold the other one but i only sold the rolling chassi.......So when i got back to work i put the Lt1 motor in a notch back mustang....I ended having problems with the painless EFI wireing harness and this and that........so i parted it all out and put together a 2008 LS7 Zo6 motor and put a carb on it and a front mount distribtor AND LOVE IT.......NO more EFI......

heres the 2nd day i got it and i got it cheap but needed to be wet sanded then rubbed out...........

Then i changed it to 5 lug

    no motor in it yet

    398ci LT1 with a NX maf 2 stage system

After screwing around with EFI and this and that i parted out the motor, harness etc etc..........then i went to the carbed Ls7 motor

BUT then i tottaled that one screwing around on the street....tires started spinning after 2nd gear......

So the only thing to do is what ??

    first thing paint....

Then i bought the $1,200 2 pc intake manifold and switched to a Dominator carb and the LS7 was back to running again......but better..
Heres some info on the motor.....

2008 429ci LS7 ZO6 motor converted to wet sump..factory cut crank, factory rods, factory rebuilt Ls7 heads, mild .620 lift hydrolic roller cam, pump gas, 4 mufflers, crank driven water pump, and carb...no monster tach...no shift light ....no trans brake.....
    9.61@141 on motor......

BUT then i found out i had cancer and had no insurance at the time....so the car had to go.........sold it for $19,000............So now i have been doing keymo and radiation the last 9 months ......right now i have 4 more keymo treatments and then we see what the cancer did......just need to prey its all gone...........BUT about the last few months i have been bored with nothing to tinker with SSOOOO i bought a roller....

I was thinking of putting my Marauder motor in it but things change............i also have a couple LS3 short blocks and a bare block......its easier and cheaper to put the LS motor in then the 4.6.
plus they make headers for ls motor......plus i want to run a carb and front mount distributor again....

Ditto on what Martyo said, although I haven't had cancer, I've had friends and family who have..some beat it and some did not. Some awesome powerhouses you have had and have. Hope the docs give you clean bill of health soon

My kind of hot rodder: Ford, Chevy, Chevy in a Ford, doesn't matter as long as it goes fast.
Good luck with your cancer fight, hope it goes away and never comes back.

First I'd heard of your bout with cancer as well, will definitely keep you in my prayers.

Always liked the notchback Mustangs, and you had some sweet ones!

Wow!! That is some stable of cars. I love them all. Especially the Impys and the red Fox!!

I really really hope your fight with cancer comes to an end.

Are you on the Impala SS forum? I am. I go there from time to time. Same screen name for me.

I use to have a really mint 1997 Camaro SS with every SS option, obviously except for the LT4 model.

Good luck to everyone here fighting or knowing someone close fighting cancer.

Sorry too about your cancer. I'm sure all will go well.

All nice rides to be sure. The minibike is close to my heart as I restored one myself when I was 14. I also had a go kart that remains my favorite Christmas gift of all time!

My wife had cancer 25 years ago, before I knew her. Thanks to God for her survival. My mother in law has it right now. Pancreatic. Not much hope unfortunately.
