    K&N cold air intake....

Is it worth the $300 price of admission? I've been debating ordering it and would just like to hear some opinions of those of you that have 'em thanks.

Look around try Google shopping, I paid $230 for mine shipped.
I didn't have a real before and after dyno sheet and the butt-o-meter didn't really give me any major HP feelings. The car already had Trilogy so for me it was more of a can't hurt thing.
Sounds better IMHO, definitely looks cooler.
It's all BS until you can show me the time slip!

I think it is personal preference. Me, I like the finished look of the K&N over the JLT. I wanted and found a used one and paid around $150 IIRC.

Mine pulls a lot harder in the higher rpms with KN. How much air can be sucked through a straw? Also the KN is smooth which makes less restriction compared to stock. The larger filter allows more air to flow through instead of the little hole in the stock one.

I'm thinking about one, but I'm leaning towards the JLT. No precise reason why...I think I like the looks of the JLT better. To each his own...Oh yeah, the JLT is cheaper too!

i looked into a few/3 different ones i know of....musclemerc's CAI(i really wanted one of these, but the price is steep!)$416, K&N ~$250, or the JLT $150(bought mine used for $75 w/o filter, and thanks to Spectragod for a filter). somebody posted in my topic..'a CAI is a CAI, none of them is significantly going to give you more power than the next'. choose with what you think looks best--whitey

The stock CAI is pretty darn good to begin with. Put a K&N drop-in and your pretty good to go. The JLT, K&N, etc is more of a personal thing. I have the K&N because I think it looks better. I've heard the JLT is a bit louder.

K&N has better materials JLT is cheaper (165) and a huge filter and intake tube. Paid $195 for the K&N on Amazon. I personally dont think much separates the two other than price and materials. I went K&N for the carb eo.

Is this going to be your first mod? If it is, I suggest going with a tune from either Mo's or Lidio, much more bang for the buck, IMO.

If you want a piece to show off and works good with K&N. If you want something that's not an eye sore, works good and is cheaper go with the JLT.

I've had my JLT for probably close to 6 years now. The only one draw back to the JLT is that the elbow piece that connects to the throttle body will rub the hood a little. I don't know if that problem was ever corrected. When I changed to a cowl hood it didn't rub anymore.

Could always try removing and capping the snorkel arm on the factory intake and putting a k&n drop-in filter in...

That's what I originally did until I picked up a JLT.
