    Wildwood, NJ, classic car show

    Heading down the Jersey shore tomorrow. About a three hour ride from North Jersey. Hope to get there on time to register and get on the Boardwalk before the noon cut off.

    Anyway, if I miss the cut off, there's always Saturday.

    About 300 cars scheduled for the show.

    This is my first show with the Galaxie's new motor, dressed up engine compartment/trunk, and the new interior.

    Really looking forward to the attendee comments.

    Weather looks great, but the Atlantic Ocean will be a bit nippy for any splashing in the surf.

    Sucks that I'm from there but i can't make it to the show...if you run by Bob's Auto Body on Rio Grande Ave. then you will see my MM sitting there with the complete front clip off...

    Spent this weekend on the boardwalk at the Wildwood autoshow.

    Roughly 300 or so cars.

    It's amazing what a new motor and interior can do for an old car. People that used to look at the car and just glance at the motor and the interior now stay and gawk.

    I went for a walk to look at the other cars, and when I came back, my wife informed me that the judges had selected my car as one of the "top 40".

    So, Saturday night, all the top 40 winners went to the Wildwood Convention Center, and, amongst ourselves, voted for the best car in the show, which there was no way I could win. Never, ever, never.

    A beautiful 58 Corvette rightly won. (I voted for a pristine, unrestored, in a garage for 20 years, Fairmont Futura. The car was stunning.)

    Saw a Marauder on the boardwalk, but I didn't have the time to stop and say hello.

    Just came back from a few days at Wildwood.

    Got bad news, no classic car show this year. Seems like the town and the organization running the show could not reach an agreement.

    First time in about 20 years or so that there will not be an old car show on the Wildwood boardwalk in September.

    For me, this is a real letdown. It was the perfect way to end a summer and take the old Galaxie for a nice cruise.

    Real glad that I attented the May show.

    That's sad news! It looked like a great show. Your car is beautiful!! (Shoulda brought it up to Fuddruckers. We woulda love to see it!)
