    Valve cover removal

Alright I am going finally going to ask this question. I didn't want to ask it because some of you might think what an idiot I am, but how do you get them off. All of the bolts and obvious stuff has been taken off. I did this a couple of years ago, but I can not remember how to take them off again. The passenger side one is hitting the heater box. It seems like I had to take off some kind of cover on the driver side to get the driver side valve cover off and loosen the motor mount. Can someone please help me?

I assume you mean the cam covers......

    Drivers side comes off easy.

To get the passenger side off I had to remove the motor mount bolt on the passenger side and jack the motor up (used a 2x4 & jack on the oil pan). Once off you can grind down a boss inside the cam cover to make future remove easier. While you have the cam cover off you might want to replace the BCM. They are about $50.00 at the dealer.

to get pass side out can be a pain but here is what I did first keep working on it it will come out some force may be needed try to take it easy on the HVAC unit. Ok now that its out look at the back bottom corner this area has a tab that causes it to hit I ground mine down a bit it doesn't leak but now it just drops right in and out if I need to.

Not true. I removed and replaced twice without ever touching the motor mounts.

yep like I said it is a pain to get out put I never lowered or removed anything besides the valve cover bolts. Also don't forget to grind that back corner down before reinstall if you do the cover almost falls in then.

Mines has been taken apart literally 7 times in past weeks. Cowl and wipers, upper intake then cam covers. Not hard at all. It's together now and will be taken a part AGAIN to fix timing for a 3rd time and timing cover cones off for that
