    Did anyone read the story about the color of the plane....the original color was beige but the sun bleached it so to speak, to pink......she said no, they were painted pink from the beginning.....did i read that right???? Seems a little tiptoe thru the tulips for me.....

    they told us that the plane's color did get sun faded from sand color to pink on top, but maybe that plane was painted pink to match what it "would" have looked like. The tour guide I was with said most of the planes in the museum were painted a "show" gloss color. The military would use a flat paint. But the gloss shows better at shows and in museums.
