Did the boat ever set it's sails or was it motor only?

Yes, the sloop (single main mast) set sails once it cleared the inlet. In fact, the MM.Net members actually helped with the lines. Setting the sails is alot easier than hoisting them back up. BradleyG's line got tangled in one of the flag lines. We had the main sail, the top sail and those 2 fore sails running in the wind. Looked great !!! We even got a chance to check out the accomodations below decks. There are 8 bunks, a galley and a dining area down there. Originally, it was a cargo/merchant ship back during the War of 1812 until it was captured by the British. If you notice in the video, the ship was flying the Brit colors until a certain day of the year when the USA recaptured the ship and restored the colors.

Coming back in on the 10:00 AM cruise, the Captain kept some of the sails set until we were well into the inlet.

It set sail, but we didn't go very far. Winds were pretty calm.

It wasn't the lack of wind, it was only having three crew members to stick their fingers in the holes for safty.

I did the 12:00 cruise. Nice time and way cool but we didn't have anyone climbing the rigging...
