    Mods for better fuel economy!

Just checked my mileage and got the best I've ever had! Better than 24 mpg, mostly highway (except for a few runs around Cracker Barrel). I've been getting around 20 up 'til now. Runs and sounds great, and gets better mileage than any car I've ever had. Life is good.

Performance Mods: DR chip with Jerry tune, Denso IT20s, 180 degree 'stat, K&N filter, Steeda pulleys, Kook's headers, 2-1/2" exhaust system with Magnaflow high flow cats, Bassani x-pipe and Edelbrock mufflers.
Thanks to Darrin @ BC Automotive:
$1800 and it was worse than when he started!

Wow...This is like really really weird...

In the last week of December, 2003, I took a road trip that showed 24 MPG too. Just after the first of the year, I parked my MM in the garage and waited through 7 weeks of snow and unfavorable weather. This past Sunday, (2/22) I pulled her out and took a short road trip to Milwaukee.

I got 17 MPG, without changing anything on the car...Nothing.

    Zup?

This is the worst MPG I have ever seen on this MM!

Me too Sarge.. except, I haven't needed to store her at all. The last 2 tanks of gas have averaged around 18 mpg. I was getting around 24 mpg as well. hmmmm.... ...and just because someone will ask, no I have had my foot planted in the injectors. Although,.. I'm about due an oil change, maybe I should look at my air filter?

I think that the winter blended fuels give worse mileage. I am sure they use winter blend in the Big Windy but what about where the 'Nut comes from?

Also, I would judge the results over a few tanks of gas. One take is not the be all and end all of this analysis.

    Hey Sarge...

I read somewhere that higher octane gas deteriorates after about 6 weeks (Chevron guy posted) !! Could be that lower octane rating after storage and the poor winter gas did it!!

Mine gets better every time I check it......But I drive it a lot!!
