    neutral safety sw tool

After reading through my marauder repair manual last night I finally got to the section about the neutral safety switch or transmission range sensor(trs) as they call it. Ford says to use a trs tool to I guess keep the sensor aligned correctly when reinstalling. Do I really need to buy one of these tools?

The tool itself costs about $80 and the switch is $70. Can the repair be done correctly without the trs tool? Thanks for the help.

You should be fine with using the witness marks. The center hole is keyed and the bolt holes should be slotted slightly.

There are called witness marks. Look for a mark on the switch and a mark where the switch mounts.
