Is the bendix on our starters replaceable or do i have to replace the whole unit?

Whole unit unless anyone else has a source. When mine went out it stuck on engage, had to disconnect battery cables to get it to stop turning motor over!

Just replace the unit. If you install a bendix 3 months later you'll be pulling it out again with dead motor/brushes/contacts. Then the $ spent on the new bendix will be wasted not to mention your time re-doing the same labor.

Many of these starters have a very tiny corner of one of the magnets break off and float around. I removed said piece from mine over three years ago and it still works perfect today.
