    Marauder Transmission For Sale

I bought a 2003 Marauder with 55K in October 2005. Last year, I removed the 4R70W automatic and replaced it with a T-45 manual. That swap took place at 84K and I've since sold the car. I would like to sell this transmission and torque converter.

The transmission is in excellent shape and shifts perfectly. The fluid was changed 3 times in the years I had the car because it was my instructor car for the track (road course, no drag strips). Price: $750.00 plus shipping. PM me or email me at dj.wagner@earthlink.net

It was easier than I expected. I had 2 T-45's laying around and knew it would bolt right up the 4.6. What I didn't expect was that the driveshaft didn't require any modification other than changing the front yoke.

The clutch/brake pedal was easy too and since mine had the moving pedals, I was able to keep the throttle pedal electric which greatly improved heal/toe shifting. I used a brake pedal from an 03 Crown Vic and added the Mustang clutch pedal assy to it.

Lastly, I had to modify the shifter to move it back about 5 inches and turn off all the auto trans programs in the computer. That was it. I sold it to a friend and he's got around 120K on the car now and loves the manual.

If anyone is planning to try this, make sure you reinforce the firewall where the clutch cable goes through or you'll have problems. Had to learn that lesson a couple months after the swap.

Sorry, I'm pretty much out of the install business. My life is taken up running a non-profit teen driving program (Teen Driving Solutions). But I'll gladly sell the my other T-45. It was completely rebuilt about 1 year ago and never installed in anything yet. I may even have another Cobra flywheel and possibly an aftermarket shifter. I'd have to search the storage sheds for those things though.

If by x-member you mean where the transmission mounts/bolts, the manual bolted up in the same place. I just had to lengthen the slots where the mount studs come through and it dropped right in.

Man, that's cool. Are you still in touch with the buyer/new owner? It would be great if he could join MM.net so that we could keep track of the car and keep it in the family if he decided to sell.

    Nice work!

Thanks! Yes, the new owner is a good friend of mine and I'll forward him the site info and encourage him to join. He plans to put the car on track this year for a couple sessions so I'll get him to post more videos as well. I miss that car....but fortunately it's still nearby.

Here's another video of the car on Full Course at VIR with the automatic.

This shows how well the transmission performed right to the day I did the swap for the manual.
