Looks like I have a new problem.
For a couple of days now I'm hearing that electric motor sound coming from
under the hood when I hit the key (this does stop). Then for as long as I'm driving the traction control light will flash several times every few minutes. I've got a feeling this shouldn't be happening. All this during normal driving, no ice, no rain just nice dry, straight roads.
Does anybody have an idea of what may be wrong??

if its the green light in the middle of your guages thats the check engine light for the transmission.....its throwing trouble codes

The electric motor sound from under the hood is probably just the air compressor airing up your rear air bags. And as for the traction control light, did you have your tires rotated recently thus putting the smaller ones in the rear? That'll make your traction control wonky.

The TC light coming on could be the wrong size tires on the front and rear.

73 is the best number.
As the RAS compressors get older, they get louder. Once you reach the point where it's very obvious, start saving up to buy a new one. They're about $200 from Arnott.
As far as the traction control flashing, you need to have the rear tires 3-6% larger than the fronts or the TC god gets upset.

Take out the compressor, clean the debris out of the "bucket" it's in, drill more drainage holes so the compressor won't be sitting in water....

I looked in the owners manual and it does say that during TC operation there may be an electric motor type sound coming from the engine compartment. But this is going on almost everytime.
I do have the same size tires, front and rear. But this was going on even when the tires were different sizes.
And while cold there is a clunking coming from the rear brakes,
after warm up the clunking goes away. The sound appears to be coming from the drivers side. When I use the brakes while in reverse it sounds/feels like the brakes grab quickly and let go just as fast once the foot is off the brakes.

When the TC is working on my Grand Marquis in the snow, there is an electric motor sound faintly coming from behind the dash.

It's time to see Mo's. They work on a lot of these cars and they're close to you. You are listing a number of differant things. These could be all tide together, or not. Brakes, Traction controle, and suspention. Let Marty sort it all out. It's to hard to tell with out seeing it.

You have a 2004 Marauder. Therefore, you DO HAVE traction control and you need to maintain the 3-6% height difference for the rear tires.
Turn off the Traction Control using the button on the dashboard and see if the problem and the flashing light goes away. If it does, you have a tire mismatch outside the tolerances of the MM traction control.

A friend of mine put some smaller tires on the front and all the gremlins went away.
So I'm wandering? I have a regular Grand Marquis with TC, same size tires all around and no problem. What is different in the Marauder that it can't have the same size tires, and what can I do to change that? Aside from pulling the fuse or turning the TC off everytime.
Is there a sensor or something else that can be changed out to still have the TC working but not having fits over the size of the tires.
And is that air pump located behind the drivers inner fender?

The Marauders computer is programmed for the difference between the front and rear tires. The GM's computer is programmed for the same size on the front and rear.
The air compressor is below the washer tank.
