Cam cover removal the easy way.

Okay, I admit defeat and ready to eat my words when I did my passenger side without issue a few months back.

My car went pretty easily. Not so much for a customers car yesterday.. Now I realize no two Marauders were created equally, but this was night and day. I first tried the grinding trick, NOPE, not even close. I lifted the engine, worse! I managed to scoot the engine over a 1/2", still no!

So here is a trick that takes under 5 minutes.

Remove the two 18mm motor mount nuts located here>

Raise engine to accommodate a decent size socket to lay on the perch like so.>

    Set engine back down.

Here is the difference you will have.

    VS.

The cover will JUMP on like a small block Chevy!!!

    Your welcome.

I took off the right side motor mount nut, placed a 2x4 across the oil pan, placed my floor jack under the 2x4 and jacked the engine up about 1.5 to 2 inches. Same result!

To clarify, you only have to unbolt the right side mount.

Do not touch the drivers side mount correct?

Silly question I know, but I want to be 100% clear on this. I will probably do this in two weeks.

    Correct.

Still a pretty tight fit, but this trick helps alot.
