    5.4 DOHC Heads

Does anyone know what vin code I need for the Marauder? Or does it not matter? Any feedback would be helpful, Thanks

They make an adaptor to reuse the stock 4.6.

What exactly is your question? There is no vin code specific 5.4 dohc heads for the Marauder.

You have the Lincoln Navigator and the Ford GT.

The Marauder/Mach 1/Cobra/Aviator heads are known to be some of the best flowing heads Ford has made. There is no point to doing 5.4 heads unless you have a turbo or centri s/c setup, even then what it costs isn't worth the hp per $$$ ratio.

What exactly are you looking/trying to do?

The navigator heads offer 2 different vin codes and I wasn't sure if it mattered which ones to use. I am going S/C probably next fall and I'm just doing odd ball stuff until I buy the kit I'm going to go with. Seen a pair for like $300.00 and I work for a shop, so having all the machine work done wouldn't cost me much.

Navigator heads on a 4.6 will make less hp and tq than a set of C heads (99/01s or 03/04s). The Navi ports are way too big which kills velocity and that will lead to performacne similar to a B headed 4.6...which is terrible.

Ok, so I should just leave it alone? What about porting and polishing and grinding the valve seats on the heads that are on there now? Will that give me any benefit in hp to $$$ ratio? You'll have to bare with me, this is my first Ford.

Mill the heads .030" to .040", open the valve seat IDs to 90% of the IV and 85% of the EV diameters.
