Great work Chris! Thanks for getting film of Bad Merc -you caught the car screaming along.

I know I was in the mid 120's on that back straight away. It doesnt look that fast on tape but believe me when I tell you that track gets awful small very fast!

I have alot more respect for the drivers now then I ever had-what a blast

I hoped you guys would like it. Yes on the speed. The Pace car was staying at 105 MPH and we had to keep up with him! I hit 120 a good bit of the time!

When I get my Hi8 video converted to digital, I'll post it up. I placed a camera on the apron to record all the laps. You can also see each car coming off the track.

In case you missed this on, here's video from my trailer hitch ...

    Warmest Regards!

I was behind the pace car in group 4, coming down the tri oval (front stretch) we were at about 100...enter turn 1 at 85 -90, I could hear the pace cars exhaust note come on in the middle of 1-2, so I stuffed my car to the floor, the pace car pulled away easily from me, I left my foot to the floor all the way down the back stretch till just before entering 3, several times I saw the needle higher than 120 - 125... The last lap in the middle of 3 - 4 I actually let go of the wheel once the car was settled into the turn, the car will track through the corner if you stay on the gas!

Most people won't play with traction based on speed and cornering, ask Meredith what it felt like the first time I flat footed the throttle in the middle of 3 - 4...we both laughed like school kids! Its amazing what a car can really do if you are willing to learn. If you are not comfortable doing it in your own car I suggest you take a ride with someone who is!

I thought about this too late. We were next up on the track when I thought, man, I should have rode with someone...
I was behind you and let up on the gas way too early then...first time, nervous and all. I'll know better next time...

It was a good turn out and that track is sweet, I hit 115mph+ on my second go around.
