    Exclamation Slight overheating. Thermostat again?

Recently, I am experiencing a new issue.

The car will run hot, even if it's 8 outside!

Not too hot though. The temperature needle will point to 25mph instead of just above 20mph.

The car will heat up when at higher speeds. Local driving it would cool off. Now it's running a little hot no matter what.

I changed the air filter and noticed no difference. I checked the radiator for blockage, no luck.

Right now I am going to have the radiator power washed in case it's full of salt.

My only other guess is the thermostat is stuck a little closed. I replaced it a few months back.

    My fan works fine.

Should the thermostat be next or is there something else I should look into first?

Just in time for my 3,000 mile drive.

Burp the system again, then again, and again. According to my scan gauge, the temp gauge will start moving at 207*. Salt might be the issue, but i doubt it. If that doesnt do it, my guess is the thermostat.

Mine gets up to 204 for a few seconds sometimes. Usually it stays between 197*-202*. Stock thermostat.

My fan kicks on and off...before 210*...maybe the temp sensor is at different spots for the fan and gauge?

With a tune, you really should have a 180 thermostat.
The fan is set to 190 in aftermarket tunes.

The guys on here are the ones who solved the issue, but like I always said, I can follow instructions.

As far as my issues, it's best to focus on what's good instead of what is bad or what you disagree with. The only one that can fix me is me.

My fan stays on no matter what... Temp gauge is and always has been fine.. could this be in the tune I have on the car?

What is your climate control set on? Turn it off and re-check.

Also, a disconnected coolant temp sensor or one of the AC line sensors can trigger the fan to stay on.

Having the EATC set on Auto, Defrost, FLR/Defrost or A/C will cycle the fan a lot.
