Transmissions are a hot button topic for me. I've grenaded one at 27000 miles, watched technical discussions on them that I only barely comprehend, got mine reprogrammed, and have still more questions.
1st off, is the transmission in the '04 models a "better" transmission? If so, then why? If not, then why did Ford change it?
I have read that they're using needle bearings in the '04.
What does that provide? Can the transmission downshift at higher speeds than the '03 models can? If so, that sure sounds like an improvement.
I hope that someone can shed some light on this for me.
Thanks...
