    Marauderville 12 event updates

Okay -just a reminder to make sure you bring some lawn chairs for the saturday car show at the track. Anyone local have a small tent please bring it with you. We will be parking in the paddock field. It is supposed to be warm -70's so I am sure it will be hot out their.

If anyone has a movie camera/regular camera and could bring it and take some pics/film we would be very greatful!

Just called RT 41 drag racing to check in and our contact has been replaced with a new person and they have posted a new schedule for September that does not show Friday night test n tune. I will be contacting him and trying to clarify on this. If Rt. 41 is not available I know for sure that RT. 66 is having a TNT on Friday starting at 4:30 -9:30 PM.

They are having some type of EMT/Firefighter/Police event with emergency vehicle light show etc. It is also way closer to the hotel with a $25 fee for racing + I believe $15 admin fee.

They are known as rule sticklers so please make sure you bring a helmet and have long pants and long sleeved shirts if you want to race. I am going to check with them and see what is required for us to run.

I dont think we have a lot of cars running 11.49 or faster so no cages required. I did see NHRA rules show needing straps for a supercharger but I am going to clarify with them what will be required. If it isnt too bad this will be the way for us to go.

I will have more info by tomorrow night hopefully! Let's keep our fingers crossed

Just received a hexagonal EZ-up as a wedding gift. Can chuck it in the trunk with a couple chairs and a cooler.

Love the maps Autobahn has: http://www.drivefastbesafe.com/PDFs/...yout%20Map.pdf

Which paddock field will we be parking in?

Okay-here is the skinny on drag racing -they are going to be crowded at Route 66 so Charlie the head tech guy told me to get there early -around 3:30 PM. He told me they want you to have a helmet that is snell 2005 or a comparable helmet to race. Old Football or Lacrosse helmets will not be acceptable!

If you dont have a helmet their is a shop a little ways from our hotel called the Winners Circle -207 North Scott Street, Joliet, IL where you can probably purchase a helmet. I am sure they are not cheap and no the track does not rent them -checked I believe line locs are okay.

We will have to leave Volo around 2PM to make it. Because our cars are not faster then 11.49 ET we should be okay with not having to have any other safety equipment. Drag radials are fine and they dont require a drive shaft loop until you are faster. You must have long sleeve shirt, long pants and no open toed shoes.

I have told them that most of our cars run 13's -to low 12's. If you have a stock car then you will be running in the 14's. It doesnt hurt to tell them that your car is a little slower then it is especially if you are pushing the mid 11 barrier.

You are to enter gate 11 off of route 53. You will then go to Tech. From their I believe you will have the option to buy gas -100 unleaded -but it is about $9 per gallon. Their are speedway gas stations on the way that sell higher octane gas and I would go to one of them first.

Cost is 15 admin plus $25 to race and you must keep your race card with you and show them when you hit the pre stage lanes. You might only get 3 runs in so be prepared. If you dont want to waste the money no problem.

I still have not heard back from Rt 41 but I am still waiting.

Interesting. If RT 41 doesn't work I might just head North of Volo to my favorite track. I don't really like 66
