    Rim size to tire size

ok i know that the factory MM rim is 18x8 and the largest tire is a 255x55......but i have heard of people putting a 275x45 on this rim, and i have others that tell me it will not fit. I am seeking the advice of people that truely know their cars better than i know my own. Can anyone answer this question for me please?

Tire size will depend on if you have an 03 or 04 with traction control. No traction control then you can run same size all around, 04 will need a staggered size with the rear being larger in diameter.

The widest I feel safe running on the stock wheel is 265/50.

Since mine is an 04 and has traction control I have to run staggered.
Summer I use 255/45 on the front and 265/50 on the rear.
Winter I use 235/50 on the front and 255/55 on the rear.

I'll be running 295/45 on the rear and 255/45 on the front...... I do have widened rear wheels.

i have an 03 and now the rims are not widened. they are the same factory rims since the dealership. what ive gathered is that 265 are questionable and 275 is a risk but will work. I just dont want to be doing 70mph on the toll way and hit a bump and boom the rim sink in the tire and BYE BYE me.

265/50 will work just fine. I put mine through the paces, zero issues. I've been running my summer combo for about 4 years. The only problem with the 265/50 is ONE and only ONE company makes that size tire and it's Nitto and it's a summer (warm weather) only tire.

Past thread on 265/50 tire in case you want to read up on it.
