New Marauder wannabe member from AZ

I don't have a Marauder. Hopefully you guys won't hold that against me. lol I've had this Grand Marquis since 2010. I've spent too much time on it. lol I've been a member on CVN for a long time. I've read a few tech articles here but never joined.

Appearance-wise it is the antithesis of a Marauder. I'm thinking about redoing it in a monochrome scheme though. The dreadful white paint is starting to abandon the car.

Yes, those pics are from a combo of 2013 & 2014 FFF. If you're not in the Socal FB group sign up. There's a Panther specific class this year. We're shooting for 50 cars. Definitely hitting 40 for 2015.

I didn't see the multi-quote button at first.

The seats are the crowning achievement for me so far in modifying this car. Although my favorite part is the B&M shifter. A friend of mine did the plastic work that merged the shifter bezel and the console cover into one slick unit.

The seat project is easier than it looks. It might be even easier for a welder(weldor?).

I took the original seats off of the tracks. The seats and the pans. I took all of the electronics out of them too. I left the lumber in the driver's seat. I put the passenger seat sensor air bladder in the passenger seat. I don't have airbag seats so I left the airbag connectors along. All of the extra electronics that aren't used by the tracks are just zip tied to non-moving parts of the tracks.

The part that holds the seat back had to be cut off of the tracks. That was the PoNR.

Then I just measured the seats and the tracks. I drilled a piece of 3/4" square tube with holes to match the tracks and the seats. Then just bolted the three components together. So essentially the square tube is an adapter.

Their lowest position is about that much higher than the old seats lowest position. I'm 5'7" so they sit at the perfect height for me, at the lowest position. The powered track is easier to modify than the manual track. I plan to find the powered track parts and swap them in for the passenger side. I just haven't had the funds lately to fix things that aren't broken.

Here's a slideshow of the seats. They came from Craigslist so I had to actually repair them some too.

There's no telling what the future holds for it. Thanks for the compliments guys!
