    Very low rpm at idle

I started up my 04 Marauder yesterday, it started and ran like normal, however the rpm's on the tach were very low. It didn't sound like the engine was running at 250. The oil change is less than 500 miles old, the dipstick was on the full mark. There were no odd noises from the engine, just the tach showing the low rpm's. The engine rev'ed like normal, but it would return down to under 500. The car has an unknown tune from the previous owner, 4.10's, k and n intake. Any help or ideas as to the cause would be greatly appreciated.

My car does that too or sits on the peg. Smack the dash and carry on.

You would def know if your car was idling at 250 because it would most likely stall. Prolly not working and try post above lol.

So there is something wrong with the tach? Can the tach be rebuilt or a kit to rebuild it myself? There has to be a solution to this besides hitting the dash.

Some have tried but i don't know how it turned out never really cared about it that much. You can always pull it apart and look for loose and/or dirty connections. Other option is to ignore like a few of us do. One of the quirks for cars 11+ years old.

Plenty of places that rebuild clusters just got to look them up.
