If you're heading west on Route 40 through Amarillo, TX, Cadillac Ranch is just off the highway. You can even see it from Rte 40.

    http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2220

Bring a can of spray paint and leave your mark on a Caddy!!

Directions: Just west of the Amarillo city line. I-40 exit 60. Drive south to the frontage road (old Route 66), then turn left. Drive east one mile. Cadillac Ranch will be on the right (south) side; just park your car along the shoulder and enter the pasture through an unlocked gate. Visitors are encouraged; dog friendly. - See more at: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story....beQGFZ81.dpuf

We should reach out to Chilton since he is coming for the video and photos, right?

I'm planning on leaving on the 15th. My brother will be sitting shotgun. I can certainly wait at the Rally's in Los Banos (we might grab some fries for the road) to sync up if that is easier for you. I realize it will take you a few hours to drive down from Sac-town. I always stop in Calico for a bite or soda. I can give you my cell number.

Yep! Where ever you want on I5, probably better for me about 3 hours in or so, so Los banjos is about right. Fries for the road... I love it! What time do you want to leave?

I don't know! He should! He can stay in my room a night or two if he needs to (remember he is too young to rent a room).

I was thinking about trying to be at Rally's http://www.rallyshamburgers.com/ to grab some famous french fries at maybe 10. Then try to eat at Calico House Restaurant just before 5. http://cms.sbcounty.gov/parks/parks/...ghosttown.aspx
