Hey - that's valid, Barry. How many other 4200#+ sedans are in the 13s with no S/C?

If I was not an owner it would be what I would assume, too.

Were I you, I 'd take it as a compliment, and then show them (under the hood) that no, these cars aren't as slow as people who only read magazines think they are.

Self-importance is our greatest enemy. Think about it - what weakens us is feeling offended by the deeds and misdeeds of our fellowmen. Our self-importance requires that we spend most of our lives offended by someone. -- Carlos Castaneda

It took me a while to convince one guy that my MM is stock and not an FBI or CIA specialty car.

...my aunt from Indiana assumed my marauder was a towncar; I`ll take it as a compliment!

I also overheard someone say "he`s driving a po-po car!

In an effort to help educate the current Chevrolet crowd, and to further my wife's theory of my maturity level, I have the following to report. After reading this thread, I spent the better part of Saturday washing and waxing my Marauder. Then I went into my room, took a shower and put some respectable clothing on, including my nifty Eastern Marauder shirt. Here in Huntsville, I just so happen to stat next to one of the large Chevy Dealers in AL. I jumped into my car, and proceeded to pull into his lot. I made a couple slow parade laps around the new cars, used cars, service area, parts area, just to pique everyones attention. After 2 laps, and a lot of animated head shaking, I got to the nice slick driveway and stripped it for them. I reported the incident immediately to Mr and Mrs. Torinodan. Sometimes it's a chore, but I'm always willing to take one for the team.

When in doubt, GAS IT! This will either fix the problem, or end the suspense.

The first time I got noticed with the MM at the gas station, the guy asks "so, is that the new Ford 500?"

I get people that stare at the SS Inserts and ask "How do you pronounce that?" or say "That's one cool Marquis".

    I just keep on smiling.
