    Cooling System Modification

What is the consensus? Should everyone do it? Or, is it for modded/built cars? Certain years? VINs? Thanks.

My two cents is they should all have it. But it is more so if you are going to hot rod it. Some cars have number eight cylinder get too hot and lose compression.

They all need it no matter how you drive in my opinion.

do it, most of the threads of dropping cyl 8 have been on stock cars I've seen as the s/c cars pretty much get it.

OP - I assume you mean the rear head cooling mod?

    Cheap and easy to do.

If you wait to do it and you have a problem, doing it won't fix the problem.

+1 on this. Yes, do the rear cooling mod as soon as possible regardless of how you drive, mileage or location. You will be much happier that you did. You don't want the bill for the damage that can occur because you didn't get it done in time.

cheap insurance might as well do it

if it makes u feel any better I have 249k miles on my 03 very hard miles at that. She runs stronger than most and doesnt have the head cooling mod. Im harder on vehicles than most and no issues. She does do the ticking while warming up though.

IMHO... burping the cooling system is easier with the cooling mod.

When silver was down due to a burnt exhaust valve, we used this:

It costs more, but is very effective.
