    New rebuilt engine

So today I finally found rebuilt engines for the Marauder. They all say Mustang Cobra DOHC Aliminum engine. Is 8 bolt crank worth ($4600) $800 more than 6 bolt?($3800)
Aviator engine ($2800) is $1000 less than a Mustang Cobra engine. Which engine is “better” for the Marauder?

Whatever has the newest heads. 8 bolt flex plate is tough to find I think.

I had my 03 MM engine rebuilt. I put in a forged crank , which required an 8 bolt flex plate, which I found and purchased no problem. Chris at ADTR helped.
One member here, DanielDrives ( or something like that) dropped an Aviator motor in his MM. I can help you contact him. He might still have his damaged orig MM engine.

Upgraded to 8 rib belt to reduce slip, July-Nov '23. Car broke during tune with Marty Feb '24. Running again May '24. Still needs tune.

Chances of breaking either crank are practically nil.

Oil pickup tube and oil pan are unique for the MM, and obsolete.

What is your goal, just to have a running/driving car? If the aviator motor is clean save yourself the money and go with that. I did that swap years ago in my 03 Marauder. You'll need to swap the following over from your old motor:

    Intake
    Coolant crossover tube
    Valve covers
    Timing cover
    Oil pickup tube
    Oil pan
    Wiring harness

2016 Ford Mustang GT PP - Lund nGauge, BMR vertical links, MGW Shifter, BMR CB005

2004 Mercury Marauder - Eaton M112, Billetflow 3.4, Accufab SBTB + Plenum, T-56 Magnum, 4.10s, Stainless Works LTs, 2.5" Exhaust, Borla Stingers, Ridetech Coilovers + Adj rear shocks, FX-R projectors, Wilwood 13" BNSL6 + FNSL4 BBKs, S55 Gauge Cluster
    440rwhp & 406rwtq Tuned by Adam @ Revolution Automotive
    2063/3214

(Sold) 2003 Mercury Marauder - Stainless Works LT's, Stainless Works 2.5" Catback, JLT Intake, Mo's Xcal4 Tune
    5377/7838

2000 BMW M5 - Evolve Intake, Evolve Alpha-N tune, Stoptech ST-40 BBK, UUC SSK, Dinan front STB, Dinan RSB

    1996 Ford Bronco - 4" lift, 35" BFG A/T's, Punisher Valve Body, MH1 Projectors

I’m looking at a used Automatic Mach 1 engine. What would I need to swap over to the MM?
