Rear cat delete or different muffler?

Looking for opinions on two options.
I currently have Flowmaster delta 50’s installed. I was hoping that this change would be slightly louder and deeper than stock, but still quiet inside. The mufflers alone achieved this very well. The difference between stock and Delta 50’s is about 5% louder and zero drone at speeds over 45mph.
I’m looking to get a little more growl out of the sound while retaining the quiet aspect at speeds over 45mph.
My first option is to remove the rear cats. I’m hesitant to do this for a few reasons. Legality, interior noise and exhaust smell.
The second option is to keep the cats and go with 40 series delta flow muffles.
I can’t find any clips of the car with cats and Delta 40’s to compare to.
I have been through all the threads on this topic but I can’t quite find any that address my situation specifically.
Has anyone run only delta 40’s before? What kind of sound did you get?
I can’t seem to find any sound clips of the car with just these mufflers on it.

I’m not a fan of the Magnaflow sound just want input on keeping the 50’s and deleting the cats or keeping the cats and putting on Delta 40’s.

Nobody uses flowmaster, they were cool back in the 80s-90s.

Well, if you don't mind doing a bit of muffler-juggling, what you could do is get some Delta 40's and replace the 50's and see how it sounds. If you don't like it, put the 50's back on and delete the cats and see how that sounds. I have a Frankenstein exhaust system with 20% stock components (pipe over rear axle), AeroTurbine 2525 mufflers, and Rex's (RIP) old exhaust setup off his blue when he upgraded to SW, which is shorty headers going into a pro-chamber box of somesort. It's been about 12 years, so I don't remember all the specifics. I just know I like how it sounds and I get compliments as well. So I suggest you try all possible combinations (if you can) to see which you like the best.

If mufflers were free, then sure I would try all sorts of combinations!
Changing from the 50’s to DF40’s also requires welding in an extension pipe to make them fit.
DF40’s are shorter than DF50’s. The 50’s were shorter than the stock mufflers. Cost and labor are the two big factors here.
the cheapest option is removing the rear cats but I worry that because of the location of the cats, they will introduce excessive vibration into the cabin.

You don't just remove them and leave the exhaust open...You connect it to the rest of the exhaust....

I had delta 50's with rear cat delete years ago and it was a nice setup.

Yeah, your videos were one of the reasons I went with them.
how was the interior drone? Right now the car is quiet as a mouse at cruising speeds over 45mph.
If I remove the rear cats I’m worried it’s going to get much more audible at highway speeds.

Wasn't bad at all, only reason the setup changed was because I upgraded the whole thing to Stainless Works system.

You say you can't seem to find any sound clips with the 40s. I just did a search on YouTube and stopped scrolling after looking at the 6th clip...maybe you should try that. And don't worry, YouTube is free...

This is my car with aftermarket high flow cats (one pair), a custom x-pipe, Flowmaster Delta 40's and resonator delete tips. The exhaust setup was done by the previous owner and this is a video of me being over zealous with my brand new car:

Please don't judge our childish antics too harshly... This was filmed in late 2006.

Honestly, I was never a fan of that setup because it had a harsh cabin drone at highway speeds, but that could have been a result of the non-resonated tips rather than the mufflers. I installed quieter Magnaflow mufflers about five years ago when these eventually rotted out from over a decade of daily driving and road salt, and I'm much happier. Although my real reason for eventually installing quieter mufflers is because I enjoy having my supercharger whine be louder than my exhaust. I'm not supercharged in that video.

If you found videos of a Marauder with Delta 40’s and no other mods on YouTube then my hat is off to you sir.
Please share the links if you have them.
